Primary Purpose:
Assist students and citizens in crossing public streets/highways safely.

2023-2024 School Year
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Cross students as designated areas safely.
2. Instruct students on basic safety dealing with crossing an intersection.
3. Cross any pedestrian at the designated location: Elementary, Intermediate, High School.
4. Be constantly alert and aware of all traffic, moving or stopped and any other circumstances that
may affect the safety of the students.
5. Report traffic violations such as speeding, failure to stop, block cross walk by recording license
plate numbers and description of vehicle to immediate supervisor /o HISD Police Dept.
6. In an emergency, take charge until proper authorities are notified and have arrived.
7. Use and care for all equipment that is issued for the task.
8. Guard must maintain self-control at all times.
Hours may vary from morning to afternoon or both.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas driver’s license
Ability to work well with youth and adults
Must have dependable transportation
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent prolonged and irregular hours; repetitive hand motions; moderate standing, walking, and
bending.
Primary Location High School/Middle School along FM 2004
Position pays 3 hour min. @ $14.00 an hour.
